Frequently Asked Questions

To become a goEasy driver, you must meet certain eligibility criteria and complete the necessary onboarding steps:

- Must be at least 23 years old
- Must have access to a 2015 or newer, 4-door, midsize sedan or a larger vehicle, such as an SUV.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Have a valid Social Security Number.
- Maintain personal auto insurance that complies with local requirements
- Have a checking or savings account for payment processing.
- 5 years of driving experience.
- Two plus years of experience with children.
- Must provide a valid reference with a good citizen background.
- Must pass a comprehensive search of county, state, and national records, including the global watchlist and sex offender registries.
- Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record with no infractions. Must pass Drug and Alcohol Tests.

Once these requirements are met, we will run the background check process, order a drug and alcohol test, and then reach out to the applicant for an in-person evaluation. If driver has passed the in-person evaluation, they will collect the camera and signage and will officially start as a driver with routes published to their dashboard.

Payout for the route is based on the travel distance and estimated travel time for the route that system displays.

If a ride is cancelled more than 12 hours in advance of the pick-up time, the ride is removed for the route, and the route is recalculated with updated payout, and the driver will need to reacknowledge the route. If the ride is cancelled between 12 to 2 hours before the pickup time, a fixed cancellation fee is added to the payout and the ride is removed from the route, with the driver needing to reacknowledge the route. If the ride is cancelled with 2 to 0 hours of the pickup time, the ride is removed from the route, but the route payout stays to the previously acknowledged payout.

Routes are published to drivers based on the radius of their location, especially their distance from the starting and ending location, and the driver’s familiarity with a route. Everyday, the routes are published to the driver’s dashboard, where they have the option to accept or reject the routes. The driver will receive a text message when a route is published on their dashboard. We encourage drivers to accept or decline the route within 30 minutes before it becomes available to other drivers.

We publish routes everday, sometimes a week in advance, a few days in advance, and up to a day in advance.

The driver should call goEasy so that they can clarify with the parents of the child. Especially for children younger than 12 years old, they should not be left alone. This should not be a typical case as we require parents to put specific instructions in the pickup/dropoff notes. Even if the route is a frequent one for the child, the child might not always have up-to-date information, so always make sure to ask goEasy first.

Some examples include: their home being locked and a parent isn’t there, or school/activity providers being locked.

The driver should contact goEasy immediately. If there are other children that the driver needs to pick up and drop off in the route, then they should complete that first, and then come back to the location where the first child could not be dropped off. The parents may have an alternate location, so goEasy will let the driver know where the driver can drop off the child. The driver's route payout will be adjusted for the extra time and distance spent to drop off the child to an alternate location.

We discourage drivers from last minute no-shows, but if there is an emergency, then the driver should call, text, or email goEasy. We will immediately look for another driver to do the route, or coordinate with parents to get their child picked up.

Sometimes there are routes that drivers get matched to on the same day of the ride. Drivers are free to accept or reject the route.

Drivers need to complete most of compliance documents once a year. For things like driver’s license, vehicle registration, vehicle insurance abd more, our system generates a warning few days early of expiration date and drivers get notified via text and email. Driver must upload the updated documents before they expire else driver's profile becomes inactive and they are not matched to any routes.

"To complete your goEasy driver application, please have the following documents ready:
Profile photo
Valid driver's license
Vehicle registration
Current vehicle insurance
Vehicle inspection documentation
Any required permits, certifications, or compliance documents requested during onboarding
You will also need to complete goEasy's required background screening, driving-record check, training, and other safety requirements before you can begin accepting rides.
Don't worry if you don't have everything ready at once. Your onboarding checklist will show you what's still needed, and our team will guide you through the process.
Tip: Make sure uploaded documents are current, clear, and easy to read to avoid delays in your application."

"Once your goEasy driver account is fully approved, you can view available rides directly in the goEasy Driver app.
Every Monday at 7 PM, we publish available rides that match your location for the following week. You can review the ride details and choose the rides that work best for your schedule.
For recurring rides, we encourage drivers to accept the full week whenever possible, as families value having the same familiar driver throughout the week.
Additional rides may also become available during the week as families submit new requests. You can review and accept these rides through the app as well.
Tip: Only accept rides you are confident you can complete. Once you accept a ride, the family is counting on you, and reliability is especially important when transporting children."

"No. Even if you've recently completed a background check for another rideshare or delivery company, you will still need to complete goEasy's background screening process.

Different companies have their own screening requirements and criteria. Because goEasy drivers transport children, we require all drivers to complete the screening specifically required for the goEasy platform before they can accept rides.

This helps us maintain a consistent safety and vetting standard for every goEasy driver.

The good news is that once you're invited to complete the background check, the process is straightforward, and we'll guide you through the required steps.
This approach is consistent with how other transportation platforms handle screening: companies can require their own background-check package, and screening providers require reports to be ordered for the specific company's permissible purpose and screening requirements."

"Before applying, make sure you meet the basic requirements, including:
Be at least 23 years old
Have a valid U.S. driver's license and Social Security Number
Have a qualifying 4-door vehicle and current auto insurance
Have at least 5 years of driving experience
Have at least 2 years of experience working with or caring for children
Have an iPhone or Android smartphone
Have a U.S. bank account for payments
Once you submit your application, the goEasy driver app will guide you through the remaining steps, including background screening, driving-record checks, drug and alcohol testing, required training, and an in-person evaluation."

Call 206-898-8111 or 425-999-7142 or email contact@goEasy.kids if you're having any difficulty uploading documents or accessing your background check link.

"Great! Completing your background check means you’re almost ready to start driving with goEasy.
By this stage, you should have already completed your driver training, vehicle documentation, drug and alcohol screening, and other required onboarding steps.

Once your background check is approved, the next steps are:

Schedule and complete your in-person screening.
Meet with the goEasy team to complete your final onboarding.
Collect your goEasy camera and vehicle signage.
Activate your driver account
Once your account is activated, you’ll be able to view and accept available rides and routes through the goEasy Driver app.
"

"Sorry about that! You can normally create your goEasy Driver account through our online driver registration page or the goEasy Driver app. The current sign-up page asks for your name, email, phone number, home address, and a few basic details to create your account.
If the signup page isn't working for you, please contact the goEasy team at contact@goEasy.kids or text (206) 898-8111, and we'll help you get started."

"If your profile shows 100% complete but you received an email saying your application is incomplete, there may still be an onboarding or compliance requirement that needs to be reviewed or completed.
Please contact the goEasy team at contact@goEasy.kids. We’ll review your application and let you know exactly what, if anything, is still needed.
goEasy’s driver onboarding includes requirements beyond creating the initial account and profile, including screening and final approval steps before a driver can begin serving rides."

"If the goEasy Driver App won't let you move to the next step, first check whether there are any required fields, documents, training steps, or acknowledgments that still need to be completed.
Please make sure:
All required fields are filled in
Required documents have been uploaded and are current
Each required onboarding step shows as completed
You have saved or submitted the current section before continuing
If everything appears complete and you still cannot move forward, don't worry and don't start a new application. Take a screenshot of where you're getting stuck and text it to 206 989 8111. We'll review your application and help you complete the next step.

goEasy's driver onboarding includes several eligibility, documentation, screening, and approval requirements before a driver can begin accepting rides.

Tip: Sending us a screenshot of the page where you're stuck will help us resolve the issue faster."

"Yes. Being a parent and having hands-on experience caring for and transporting your own children can count toward your childcare experience.
When completing your application, please provide details about your experience with children, including their ages and how long you have been caring for them.
We also consider experience as a parent, teacher, nanny, babysitter, caregiver, coach, counselor, daycare worker, or other child-focused role.
Because goEasy drivers transport children, we review each applicant’s overall experience to ensure they are comfortable, responsible, and experienced working with kids."

"Before starting your rides, make sure your goEasy camera is properly connected, powered on, and positioned correctly.
If you are unsure whether the camera is working:
Check that the device is connected to power.
Make sure nothing is blocking either the road-facing or cabin-facing camera.
Restart the camera or vehicle power connection if needed.
If you still aren't sure, contact the goEasy team before starting your ride so we can verify the camera connection.

Please do not disconnect, cover, reposition, or turn off the camera while serving goEasy rides.
The camera is an important part of goEasy's safety system and allows parents to monitor the ride through live video and location tracking"

"If your camera appears to be working but goEasy still shows it as inactive, please perform a hard reset of your DisplayRide camera.

Follow this quick troubleshooting video:

Watch the DisplayRide Hard Reset Video

After completing the reset, check the camera status again.

If the issue is still not resolved, please text us at (206) 898-8111. Our team will troubleshoot the camera with you over the phone and help get it connected."

"The camera is designed to power on when it is properly connected and your vehicle is started. DisplayRide's installation instructions say to connect the power cable to the camera and start the vehicle to verify that it powers on.

If your camera does not turn on:

Make sure the power cord is firmly connected to both the camera and the vehicle's power source.
If the cord has come loose, reconnect it and restart the vehicle.
Try the DisplayRide hard reset using the troubleshooting video below.

If the cord is damaged, detached, or the camera still won't power on, please don't try to repair or replace the equipment yourself. Text the goEasy team at (206) 898-8111, and we'll help troubleshoot the device and determine the next step.

Please make sure your camera is working before serving goEasy rides."

"goEasy processes driver payments weekly by direct deposit.
If you haven't received your payment yet, please first allow 1–2 business days for bank processing, as deposit timing can vary by bank.
If your payment still hasn't arrived after that, please contact the goEasy team and include:

Your name
The week or dates of the rides you're missing payment for
We'll review your payout and help resolve the issue.
Please also make sure your bank account information on file is current and correct."

"goEasy processes driver payments weekly, and sometimes the earnings shown in the Driver App may take additional time to update. goEasy confirms that driver payouts are made weekly directly to the bank account on file.
If last week's earnings are not showing:
Make sure all of your rides from that week were completed.
Check your bank account to see if the payment has already been deposited.
Allow some time for the earnings information to update in the app.
If the earnings are still missing or the amount doesn't look correct, contact the goEasy team with the week and rides in question, and we'll review your payout.
Don't worry. Your app display and your actual payout may update at different times, and our team can verify the payment for you."

"Not for every ride. Drivers should follow the pickup instructions provided for that specific ride.

If the ride is scheduled as a standard curbside pickup, the driver should arrive at the designated location and follow the in-app instructions.

If the parent has requested an escorted pickup, the driver may be required to get out of the vehicle, meet the child at the designated location, or sign the child out as instructed. goEasy specifically allows parents to request escorted pickup and drop-off when booking.

If the instructions are unclear or the child does not come out, do not make assumptions. Contact goEasy for guidance, especially for younger children. goEasy’s driver guidance states that drivers should contact the team when pickup or drop-off instructions are missing or unclear."

"In general, stay in your vehicle unless the ride instructions specifically require you to get out.
For school pickup lines or car lines, remain in your vehicle and follow the school’s pickup procedure. Getting out of the car unnecessarily can disrupt the pickup line or create a safety issue.
For home pickups, follow the pickup instructions provided for the ride and wait at the designated location.
Exceptions may include:

The ride is marked for escorted pickup or drop-off
You are required to sign the child in or out
The school or activity provider requires you to meet the child at a specific location
The ride instructions specifically ask you to get out of the vehicle
goEasy instructs you to do so

If the child does not arrive at the pickup location or the instructions are unclear, contact goEasy before leaving the vehicle or changing the pickup procedure. This is especially important for younger children.

Important: Never leave a child under 12 unattended in the vehicle while you go inside a school, home, or activity location. "

"Before starting any goEasy ride, please make sure you are fully prepared:
Your vehicle is clean, safe, and ready for the ride.
Your phone is charged, and the goEasy Driver App is working.
Your goEasy in-vehicle camera is powered on and working properly.
Your required goEasy vehicle signage is in place.
You have booster seats available when required for the rider. goEasy requires drivers to carry booster seats and use them when needed.
You have reviewed the entire route, including pickup and drop-off instructions, rider notes, and any special requirements.
You are prepared to arrive on time at the pickup location.

Important: Check in at least 1 hour before the scheduled pickup time.

Your check-in lets goEasy know that you are ready and available to complete the ride. If you do not check in and the ride is canceled as a result, you will not be paid for that ride.

If your camera, app, vehicle, booster seat, or anything else required for the ride is missing or not working, contact goEasy before the ride begins.

Safety and reliability come first. Drivers are expected to maintain current compliance requirements and follow goEasy’s safety and ride protocols for every trip. "

"Yes! We’d be happy to have you drive with goEasy again.

Start by downloading the latest version of the goEasy Driver App and logging into your account. Review your profile and make any updates needed. This will help bring your profile back to active status.
Depending on how long you’ve been inactive, you may need to renew some compliance requirements. Most goEasy compliance documents require renewal annually.
Once everything is current and your profile is active, you can start viewing and accepting available rides again.
Welcome back! We’re excited to have you driving with goEasy again."

"Yes. If you are returning to drive with goEasy, you will need to set up a goEasy camera before you begin serving rides again.
First, we’ll review your driver profile and compliance requirements.
If your annual background check is still current, you do not need to complete another one.
If your background check has expired, goEasy will initiate a new background check.
Any other expired compliance documents will also need to be updated.
Once your requirements are current, a goEasy team member will contact you to arrange a quick camera handoff.
Since you have driven with goEasy before, you do not need to repeat the standard onboarding process. We’ll simply make sure your account is current and that you have the required camera before you begin accepting rides again.

Welcome back!"

"Here’s what happens next:
If your annual background check is still current, you will not need to complete another one, and your profile will move directly to goEasy Screening.
If your background check has expired, goEasy will initiate a new background check before moving you forward.
The goEasy team will review your profile and let you know if anything else is required.
Once your requirements are current, we will coordinate your camera handoff, if needed, so you can begin accepting rides again.
Most goEasy compliance requirements need to remain current and are renewed periodically, with many requiring annual renewal.
There’s no need to repeat the full onboarding process. Just keep an eye on your email and text messages for the next step from the goEasy team."

"When you accept a goEasy ride, the family is counting on you to complete it. Your acceptance also affects other drivers’ route selections because the ride is considered covered and may no longer be available to them.
Please only accept rides you are confident you can serve.
Our reliability policy:
No-Show or Very Late Decline: One no-show, or declining a ride within 2 hours of the scheduled pickup time without a compelling reason, will result in deactivation of your driver profile.
Late Decline: Two consecutive declines or cancellations within 12 hours of the scheduled pickup time will result in deactivation.
Early Decline: Regularly accepting rides and then declining them more than 12 hours before pickup will lower your driver matching score. A lower score may reduce the number or types of rides you are matched with in the future.
Declining a ride after you have accepted it has a much greater impact than simply passing on the ride when it is first offered. Once you accept, the parent receives confirmation and believes their child’s transportation is covered. Your acceptance may also affect which routes other drivers choose.
When an accepted ride is later declined, goEasy must find another qualified driver, sometimes on short notice, and may need to reorganize other routes to maintain coverage.
If a genuine emergency prevents you from completing an accepted ride, contact goEasy immediately by phone or text so we can work on replacement coverage. goEasy’s current driver guidance similarly asks drivers to contact the team immediately when they cannot make an acknowledged route.
Accepting a ride is a commitment to the family. Your reliability directly affects your standing and matching priority on the goEasy platform."

"You get paid for the accpeted routes depending on when the customer cancels:
More than 12 hours before pickup: The canceled ride is removed from your route, and your route payout is recalculated. You will need to re-acknowledge the updated route.
Between 12 and 2 hours before pickup: The ride is removed from your route, and a fixed cancellation fee is added to your payout. You will need to re-acknowledge the updated route.
Within 2 hours of pickup: The ride is removed, but you will still receive the previously acknowledged route payout.
This policy helps compensate drivers when a cancellation happens close to the scheduled pickup time and you have already committed your availability to the route."

"Your vehicle inspection must be completed by a County/City-approved mechanic. Inspections completed by a mechanic who is not on the approved list will not be accepted.
You can choose any mechanic from the approved inspection list that works for your location and vehicle type.
View the approved vehicle inspection mechanics: https://seattle.gov/business-regulations/regional-dispatch-agencies-and-tncs/vehicle-safety-inspections

In some cases, goEasy may reimburse your inspection fee after you complete 12 goEasy routes within a month.
Please keep your inspection receipt and completed inspection documentation so we can process the reimbursement if you qualify."

"You do not need to bring your own inspection checklist.
The approved mechanic will have the required vehicle safety inspection form, perform the required checks, and provide you with the completed inspection report after your vehicle passes.
The inspection covers the major safety components required by the City/County, including brakes, steering, tires, lights, windows, seat belts, doors, mirrors, and other vehicle safety equipment.
Once the inspection is complete, keep the report the mechanic provides and upload it to your goEasy Driver profile as part of your vehicle documentation."

Yes, you can use valid temporary vehicle registration and temporary license plate information to continue your goEasy application while you wait for the permanent documents to arrive.

Yes. Even if you are already approved to drive with another rideshare company, such as Uber or Lyft, you still need to apply with goEasy and complete goEasy’s onboarding and screening requirements.
King County confirms that drivers who want to drive for multiple TNCs must apply with each company separately, although you may only need one active County for-hire permit.
